Jacod, turning the volume all the way up is not going to change any of the settings at the amp at all, so that has nothing to do with it.

Lynard, you need to learn how to set up an amp. So I am going to give you the simple tutorial right now. Go buy a voltmeter, then set your gain to the pre amp out voltage of the stereo. Then tune the rest of the settings to your preference. That alone will not blow an amp, and leave the bass boost off, because that will cause the amp to clip the signal and blow your amp, regardless of how many watts rms your pushing to the sub, sub can be 500 watts rms and be pushing 300 watts rms to the sub, turning the bass boost up will kill the sub.

You going to over power the sub by 100 watts rms, leave the bass boost off, set the gain correctly, and set the rest of the settings conservatively and you will be fine.
