I am trying to locate an AB11 amp box for a LUCAS RITA bike ignition, does anyone know where available to buy?
I am willing to buy new or (working) second hand amplifier or a complete kit if needed
I 2nd Geo's suggestion.
Dave used to rebuild them also.
These guys have entire system available
http://www.britcycle.com/lucas%5Frita%5Felectronic%5Fignition.htm
RITA's are "world reknowned",,,great ignition system.
But parts are long obsolete and out of production.
You're searching against a Hoarding /Stockpiling Demand.
So far,,Mistral refuses to produce retro parts,,,
low demand vs their Hi-Production Run Requirements stated as reason.
>John Carpenter
>Mistral Engineering
>Unit 12 Taylors
>Gravel Lane
>Chigwell, Essex
>England IG7 6DQ

...................
Nothing to knock about RITA's.
I used them for a while on our Triumphs at work before I left there and went to H-D.
They worked great,,but they draw current like a Headlight bulb.
35~40 Watts or so.
We couldn't really run the Triumphs all day without swapping battery in the total loss system we used.
Not a prob on street bikes with generators and big batteries though.
Even so,,the Hi Draw is still there.
.................
Lots of advances in semiconductor technology have occured since Lucas built the RITA's circuit board.
You may want to check out Pazon's products.
They are ex Boyer-Bransden folks.
I never was a fan of the BB units
Pazon claims to have set out on his own to in order improve
the ign systems beyond what Boyer was interested in doing
If your project requires the RITA....then that's that.
But if you just need a good ignition & aren't committed to using the LR,,,
Check out the Pazon

Good Luck

This article is a brief introduction to Learning Perfect Pitch. It is also referred to as absolute pitch, not to be confused with relative pitch. There is a substantial difference!
What Is Perfect Pitch?
Firstly, let me briefly explain the differences between Perfect (also called Absolute) and Relative Pitch. Perfect pitch is the ability to name or reproduce a note without reference to any instrument. It is simply hearing a note and being able to name it!
Just think for a second...Have you ever heard a song and for hours after it gets stuck in your head? The same melody repeating in your head over and over, you can actually hear the notes ringing in your ears! This is the heart of Perfect Pitch, hearing notes in your mind.
What is Relative Pitch?
It is the ability to identify a note by relating it to another note. More commonly known as "playing by ear" to most musicians. The best example I can give you is the improvisation of a guitarist or pianist. They may be playing a solo for the first time but to you it sounds like they've played it a hundred times before. They do this by finding a root note/chord/key (whatever they like really) and the improvised notes they play all relate back to this note/chord/key. Therefore it all sounds correct because they're using relative pitch to choose their next note.
Many good musicians have Relative Pitch and this is the difference between an average musician and a great one. It allows you the freedom of playing with other great musicians!
Here is a simple exercise to get you started:
The easiest and most popular way is to play a note (preferably on a piano or an in tune guitar), close your eyes and the first thing that comes to mind is how you will remember this note. It could be anything it doesn't matter. Everyone will picture different images, let your artistic senses take over! The idea is to train your brain to recognise that sound and trigger the link between your brain and your ear. Go through your scales or even random notes, and everytime your hit that note make a point to picture your chosen image. This method may take a little while to master (especially if your a newbie to learning an instrument, after all we are using our voices as instruments) but give a a good chance as it does take time for beginners. You cant learn how to ride a bike in an afternoon!
